Zorbing is the adventurous activity of rolling downhill in a big transparent plastic ball made of transparent materials.  The rider is strapped into the inner sphere of the ball and cushioned between a layer of air acting as a shock absorber and lessening the bumps while rolling. The fun begins when you get launched down the gentle slope at Southern Comfort gaining speed and going head over heels with each revolution.

Southern Comfort is the perfect venue for large groups.  We can accommodate up to 80 people in dorms at affordable prices. Our aim is to make tours affordable for school groups in these difficult times.   Situated halfway between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna only 20 minutes’ drive both ways.

17 Km from Knysna or Plettenberg  on the N2  take the” Fisantehoek”  turn off. Follow that road for 2.4 Km and you will find the entrance to Southern Comfort Western Horse Ranch on your right.

Twice Daily horse rides in the Knysna forest

At reception you will be welcomed by the Glinister family. This forest getaway is a must for nature lovers. Twenty well-trained and cared for horses welcome you from the green pastures. Twice daily visitors go on an unforgettable forest horse ride, accompanied by experienced guides. From beginners to experienced riders can enjoy the lovely Knysna forest, indigenous trees, giant strelitzia, ferns growing wild, fynbos, small streams, mountain views from another angle, on horseback. Adventure freaks can ride to the Indian Teepee camp in the forest, relax around the campfire, listen to tall stories told by the guide while preparing a mouth watering barbeque. After a peaceful sleep in a Teepee and after a real cowboy breakfast, return to the farm and experience the 2 or 4 hour Forest Hiking Trail leaving from the farm.

Retire on the highest point on the farm. The fantastic tree house which is 8 m high in the treetops where the only alarm waking you will be the song of birds in the early morning. Experience Nature in a 4×4 or quadbike and challenge the 30obstacles

On arrival, get into your 4 x 4 or on your own quad or off-road bike and experience the forest from another angle. Enter the natural man-made obstacle course over the see-saw followed by waterholes, twisters and over 30 obstacles with an adrenaline rush you have never experienced before.

Our courses are spectator- and vehicle friendly to ensure the whole day’s fun. Bring your own picnic basket or get a delicious snack from the farm kitchen. The tuck shop is open all day and late night with drinks and light snacks.
