Over the past 12 years, Southern Comfort hosted the Matriculants from all over the country, coming to Plettenberg Bay to have their first holiday without their family.

The Glinister family, running the establishment, take personal care and see to their needs to the best of our ability.

Southern Comfort is only 20 minutes away from Plettenberg Bay where the matirc parties are happening.

Southern Comfort is situated in the Knysna forest, only 20 minutes’ drive from Plettenberg Bay, where the parties are happening.  After a few nights of hectic party most students stay on the farm and have peaceful nights. They just relax or play pool and table tennis.

Transport  from Southern Comfort to Plettenberg Bay

We arrange transport with a transport company from the farm and back at night to Vegas  – minimum of 10 students/trip – P.O.R

Twice Daily horse rides in the Knysna forest

At reception you will be welcomed by the Glinister family. This forest getaway is a must for nature lovers. Twenty well-trained and cared for horses welcome you from the green pastures. Twice daily visitors go on an unforgettable forest horse ride, accompanied by experienced guides. From beginners to experienced riders can enjoy the lovely Knysna forest, indigenous trees, giant strelitzia, ferns growing wild, fynbos, small streams, mountain views from another angle, on horseback. Adventure freaks can ride to the Indian Teepee camp in the forest, relax around the campfire, listen to tall stories told by the guide while preparing a mouth watering barbeque. After a peaceful sleep in a Teepee and after a real cowboy breakfast, return to the farm and experience the 2 or 4 hour Forest Hiking Trail leaving from the farm.

Bring your office staff for a teambuilding or workshop weekend. Students and school groups will love to “chill out” at this Oasis in the forest. Offer your child a party with a difference or your daughter a real rustic “farm wedding”

Retire on the highest point on the farm. The fantastic tree house which is 8 m high in the treetops where the only alarm waking you will be the song of birds in the early morning. Camp out or stay in a dorm, double en-suite, self catering cottage or the original Sod farm house.  We can accommodate groups up to 80 people apart from camping.

Relax at the pool, play a game of table tennis or have a game of pool or just relax at one of the fire places

After sunset relax at one of the 3 fireplaces with a hot or cold drink. Join the family at the dinner table and enjoy a home cooked meal or make your own B.B.Q. End the evening at the pool table or compete in a tennis table game. After all the excitement your body will definitely need a deep tissue massage also offered on the farm. Don’t forget to jump into the swimming pool!

Experience Nature in a 4×4 or quadbike and challenge the 30obstacles

On arrival, get into your 4 x 4 or on your own quad or off-road bike and experience the forest from another angle. Enter the natural man-made obstacle course over the see-saw followed by waterholes, twisters and over 30 obstacles with an adrenaline rush you have never experienced before.

Our courses are spectator- and vehicle friendly to ensure the whole day’s fun. Bring your own picnic basket or get a delicious snack from the farm kitchen. The tuck shop is open all day and late night with drinks and light snacks.
